Chairman Professor Wei Zhen Appointed as a Member of the First Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory
In a critical period when technological innovation leads to industrial upgrading, my country's mining industry is accelerating towards a new stage of intelligent and green development. Recently, a seminar on the development planning and academic exchange of the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Optimization of Manufacturing in Mining and Metallurgical Processes was held in Beijing. Professor Wei Zhen, Chairman of the Institute of Technology, was appointed as a member of the first academic committee of the National Key Laboratory.
Members of the Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Optimized Manufacturing of Mining and Metallurgical Processes are composed of top experts in the industry including Academician Gui Weihua of Central South University and Academician Yu Haibin of Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The meeting was held in a combination of online + offline. A total of more than 40 people attended this meeting, including members of the Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory, Han Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Mining and Metallurgical Group of the supporting unit, Academician Shen Zhengchang, Director of the National Key Laboratory, and other key members.
Han Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Mining and Metallurgical Technology Group, delivered a speech on behalf of the supporting unit. The meeting introduced the establishment and development plan of the full weight laboratory and introduced key research and development projects. The participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on the innovative application and future development of intelligent optimized manufacturing technology in the mining and metallurgical process.

Jointly undertake two major national projects, the National 863 Key Project and the National Key R&D Plan Project. Through independent research on the precise positioning and navigation technology of underground unmanned mining equipment, research on the independent control technology and intelligent implementation methods of underground intelligent scrapers, the project establishes a development system and technology platform for my country's intelligent mining technology and equipment, in order to realize the realization of my country's intelligent mining industry. Underground mine intelligence provides technical support. The research results of the project can accelerate the upgrading of mining equipment and technology in mining enterprises and greatly improve the modern management level of mining enterprises. in these two projects.
Engineering University High-Tech participated in the entire process of research and development as a sub-project team leader. Professor Wei Zhen, Chairman of Engineering University High-tech, won the second prize of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award and the first prize of the 2023 China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award as the main implementer of the project.
